Bob-n-Leah come to Tanzania!

We recently had Bob Berti and his daughter Leah visit us. They were here for about 2 weeks and it was very encouraging to have them here. They preached with us a few days, then we went on safari for a couple days and finally relaxed on the beach in Zanzibar for last part of the vacation.

Since it has been so long since our last update, I thought I'd try something new to make up for it. Below you should see a scrolling photo gallery. You can view them as small images or you can click on any of them and be taken to a new page with descriptions for each picture in the upper left corner. I hope this works as there are a lot of pics and I didn't want leave any out. ;-)

Usiketi kitako tu!

Hello everyone!

We are uploading a ton of pictures as we speak. So within a day or two you should be up to your ears in pics of Tanzania!

But first, I just had to share a great quote from the "Jehovah's Day" book in this weeks lesson. It is on page 155 and in English it says, "Their expectation has definitely not meant idleness."

But in Swahili it says, "Bila Shaka hawaitarajii siku hiyo kwa kuketi kitako tu." What's the point? The literal translation of the Swahili expression is, "they didn't just sit on their butts!"

I'm sorry, but you just gotta love a straightforward, tell-it-like-it-is kinda language.

So our Swahili phrase of the day:
"Usiketi kitako tu!" ("Don't just sit on your butt!")
